Armenia’s Ombudsman strictly condemns shelling of Armenian civilian community, targeting peaceful population (photos)
On July 13 the Azerbaijani side fired mortars in the direction of Chinari settlement of Armenia’s Tavush region.
The staff of the Human Rights Defender’s Office received calls from residents and the head of Chinari community.
According to them, the Azerbaijani side fired tens of mortars, damaged the residential buildings of the community.
The staff also received photos made after the attack which showed the damages.
During the attack children where in the house damaged from the attack.
The adversary fired seven 82mm and three 120mm mortars in the direction of the Chinari.
The Ombudsman stays in direct touch with the residents and administration of the community.
The Ombudsman strictly condemns the shelling of the Armenia’s civilian settlement that targeted the peaceful population.
It is absolutely condemnable especially in the conditions of global coronavirus pandemic.
On March 23 the UN Secretary General called for global ceasefire agreed with the danger of coronavirus pandemic.
The Ombudsman’s staff will sum up the whole information and send to the international structures in a new report.
