Azerbaijan’s president states about readiness for substantive negotiations with Armenia
Azerbaijan’s president Ilham Aliyev stated about being ready for negotiations with Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement but only if they are substantive and grounded.
“During the past years necessary legal field has been formed for the settlement of the conflict. Azerbaijan’s position remains unchanged. No changes are possible. Nagorno-Karabakh is Azerbaijan’s historic territory and this territorial integrity must be restored,” he said when receiving the newly appointed minister of foreign affairs.
He said he has no intention to imitate peace talks and be engaged in senseless video-conferences.
“There must be a sense in everything. I have already said that the OSCE Minsk Group must carry out intensive activity and its actions must not be limited with just monitoring of the Line of Contact. They must ensure substantive negotiations,” Aliyev said.
