Azerbaijani side attempted to capture “Fearless” position in Armenia’s Tavush region: Armenia’s PM
At night the special squads of the Azerbaijani armed forces – over 100 servicemen – attempted regular subversive act to capture Tavush region’s “Fearless” position, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a cabinet sitting today.
He said the position is in the direction of Movses and Aygepar villages.
“The servicemen of the Armenian army prevented the penetration attempt, after fierce fight the enemy was pushed back, with preliminary information suffering casualties and having wounded and losing equipment,” the head of the government said.
He said from 5.20 a.m. Azerbaijan started shelling Aygepar and Movses villages using mortar and howitzer D-30.
“The fights were initiated in the direction of positions near Fearless position. But the Armenian Armed Forces pushed back all the attacks and took the situation under full control,” the PM said.
The head of the government stressed that the Armenian side has no losses and no wounded.
He also said that he instructed to calculate the damages and give assessments.
