If Azerbaijan refuses to negotiate with Armenia, not clear with whom it will negotiate over NK conflict: MFA spokesperson
The conflict has three parties who have signed ceasefire agreement. Previously Azerbaijan negotiated with Nagorno-Karabakh and the Republic of Armenia, then Azerbaijan refused to negotiate with the NK, spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan said, commenting with the request of Interfax on the statements made by the Azerbaijani authorities about the peace process.
“If now Azerbaijan refuses to negotiate with Armenia, it is not clear with whom it will negotiate over Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. We don't know whether Azerbaijan intends to resume negotiations with the Nagorno-Karabakh side or not,” the spokesperson said, adding that recently Azerbaijan has been trying to resort to the threats of war presented in different wrappings.
“If the threat of withdrawing from the negotiations is yet another manifestation of these threats, then it neither surprises nor impresses us. Armenia rejects the language of threats and stands for peaceful settlement of the conflict,” she said.
