Situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border relatively calm: MOD spokesperson
The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border from night of July 19 to morning of 20 is relatively calm, spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense Shushan Stepanyan reports.
“The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire nine times firing 137 shots in different sectors of the border. The adversary was silenced by the response fire of the Armenian Armed Forces,” she reported.
The spokesperson also said that the adversary used AGS-17 grenade launchers against Armenian combat positions in the direction of Tchambarak.
Four times the adversary opened untargeted fire in the direction of Chinari, Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, Berkaber, Berdavan. The Armenian side did not open response fire.
Twice untargeted fire was opened in the direction of positions in direction of Khndzorut. The Armenian side did not open response fire.
“Fire was opened in the direction of combat positions in Paruyr Sevak. The adversary was silenced by the response fire,” she reported.
