Lake Sevan has serious environmental issues, considered dying lake by experts
Armenia’s Lake Sevan has serious environmental issues and is considered a dying lake by some experts, member of Green Future environmental NGO Vahagn Varagyan said in Sevan today.
“Unfortunately, there was no response from society and corresponding bodies to save Sevan. When there are no people resting there for 11 months the issues of the Lake fall out of our attention and during the three months when people are having rest on the lake it becomes green and we all start speaking about the issue,” he said.
Varagyan said our society has two issues – ignorance and lack of ecological upbringing, stressing the necessity of ecological upbringing in schools.
