2,230 children under 18 contracted COVID-19 in Armenia as of July 17
As of July 17, the number of children under 18 infected with COVID-19 reached 2,230. The smallest patient is a newborn.
In response to Armenpress’ inquiry, Armenia’s Ministry of Health reported that 1,134 of the children had mild or average symptoms, the condition of 12 has been assessed as grave and the condition of one severe.
Some 158 children had pneumonia, some 925 cases passed asymptomatic. The 1,231 patients are male and 999 female.
As of July 17, 1,665 children have recovered.
The majority of the infected children were from capital Yerevan – 1,125, in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor 29 cases among children were recorded, in Kotayk 266, in Tavush 33. In Shirak 105, in Lori 5, in Ararat 146, in Aragatsotn 74, in Syunik 3, in Armavir 131 and in Gegharkunik 165.
Some 71 of COVID-19 infected children in Armenia are citizens of other countries.
