This state of emergency seems to have no relation with pandemic: ex-president
The state service system has been zeroed, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said at the meeting with journalists today, adding though that it may rapidly be changed.
“The issue, we may say is how the opposition will act, whether it is able to make its word reach the public and whether the public is ready not to be manipulated,” the ex-president said.
Kocharyan stated that the government has not realized that it needs very serious opposition.
“The more they weaken the opposition, the more inefficiently they will act. Today the country needs strong opposition,” he said.
Kocharyan stressed that today the authorities do not allow any political activeness.
“Now I have a question – what this state of emergency is for – to prevent possible political processes or prevent the epidemic, because it does not look like that this state of emergency has any relation to the pandemic,” Kocharyan said.
