Negotiations better than any war, but there can be no blackmailing: Robert Kocharyan
The dangerous thing is when people do not realize the importance of issue and are dealing with other ones, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said at the meeting with journalists today, speaking about Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process.
“It is necessary to read the NKR’s Declaration of Independence, the negotiations must stem from this Declaration. Everything needs grounds. If you do not have them or if you are finding new ones every day the consequences are not good ones,” he said.
The ex-president stressed that the negotiations still may be resumed.
Referring to the statement of the Azerbaijani president about his intention to stop the negotiations, the ex-president said, “Negotiations are better than any war but you cannot be subjected to blackmailing. It is necessary to show principality. Yes, there are risks, but we have always taken it and succeeded. They do not want to negotiate, we won’t. When they realize that there is no alternative to negotiations, they will resume them.”
