Authorities gave wrong assessment to coronavirus from the very beginning: Kocharyan on fighting coronavirus
The situation was wrongly assessed from the very beginning, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said at the meeting with journalists today, asked about where the authorities failed in fighting coronavirus.
“There were almost no preparatory works, officials were making decisions contradicting one another in sending messages to the people – wear masks, no, don’t it does not help… These are ridiculous phenomena which have no relation to the seriousness of the situation,” the second president said.
He said the most inadmissible for him was an attempt to accuse people of not wearing masks.
“They have fined more people in the two months than during ten years of my presidential term. Definitely, the reasons of it are the steps taken by the authorities and the efficiency of governance. You cannot tell people every time that they are to be blamed [for the situation],” he said.
