People got used to changing power by closing streets and may do the same: ex-president
Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan speaking to journalists today said he would have returned to politics in conditions of such policy of the authorities even if criminal persecutions were not launched against him.
“If the [conducted] policy did not fluctuated so much maybe yes, but I do not consider that seeing the real dangers the country is facing the ex-president, especially the one with my biography, may remain indifferent and not to respond in any way or try to change something,” he said.
Kocharyan stressed that if the government does not change its working style it will have serious problems.
“To what point did they bring the country during these two years? Shall we wait for another three to see in what condition in general they may appear?” Kocharyan stressed.
The ex-president said today all the possible scenarios are on the table.
“Our people have got used to changing the power by closing streets too, so why do you think that the same people – after the fines, pandemic and economic problems – will not decide to change the power in the same way. Why do you exclude such option? I think this possibility is bigger,” Kocharyan said.
