Mashots square activists keep silence because now they occupy positions: PAP Yerevan Council of Elders faction member

As member of Yerevan Council of Elders I am very interested where are the activists making noise for the green areas in Mashtots square, calling “Taron [ex-mayor] leave,” member of PAP faction of Yerevan Council of Elders Hripsime Arakelyan said speaking to Aysor.am.

“I am watching the videos and if previously I did not know these people, now I know them – many of them are members of My Step faction. Some of them are not even just common members but chairpersons of committees, deputy heads,” Arakelyan stressed.

She though stressed them some members of My Step faction of Yerevan Council of Elders made comments against the construction in the square but these were just words.

“I do not see these people gather in Mashtots square and demand mayor’s resignation. Why? Because that time they were activists and now they occupy positions,” she said.

Asked whether the members of their faction are planning to meet with mayor Hayk Marutyan to raise the issue of construction in Mashtots square, Arakelyan said for doing it first of all they need to find the mayor.

“Frankly speaking, I do not know where he is and what he is doing. Meeting him and discussing any issue with him is practically not realistic,” she said.
