Armenia to provide assistance to Lebanon in the limits of its capabilities: Armenia’s PM
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on behalf of the government of Armenia expressed condolence to the families of victims of Beirut blast and wished quick recovery to the injured.
“Lebanon is one of Armenia’s closest friends, the two countries and peoples are connected with one another with historic and cultural bonds,” the Prime Minister said at the cabinet sitting today.
Pashinyan noted that at this difficult moment for Lebanon Armenia cannot stay indifferent toward the needs of fraternal people and Armenian community of Beirut.
“The Republic of Armenia has expressed its readiness to provide assistance to overcome the consequences of the tragedy, and will assist Lebanon in the limits of our capabilities,” Pashinyan said.
The PM said that the Armenian government is in constant contact with the Lebanese government and community structures.
He also said that those individuals who want to make donation may do it via special account opened by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund at the Central Bank.
PM said Diaspora envoy Zareh Sinanyan will depart to Beirut to get familiarized with the needs of the community on site.
