Armenia to send three planes with humanitarian aid to Lebanon
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired today a regular consultation which this time was dedicated to the works carried out to assist the government of Lebanon.
“We have gathered to discuss our future actions regarding the situation created in the Armenian community and clarify how to coordinate the actions of the government and different Armenian organizations in general... Currently we have planned flights of three planes. The three will send humanitarian aid – medicine, food,” the PM said.
Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan said the first flight is scheduled for Saturday evening and will transport medicine.
“The next flight is planned on August 11 and another one during the next week,” he said, adding that currently the products are being collected.
“I think in the first flight we will have up to 12 tons of cargo to be transported to Lebanon,” Avinyan said.
Representatives of the Armenian government, parliament, Hayastan All-Armenia Fund will visit Lebanon to get familiarized with the situation on site, meet with the Lebanese governmental officials and representatives of the Armenia community to specify their needs and assist them.
