State of emergency will not be extended: justice minister
Armenia’s justice minister Rustam Badasyan speaking at the cabinet sitting today said the state of emergency that ends on September 11 will not be extended. He said a package of bills is being worked out though to keep the restrictions and follow the epidemiological rules.
He said quarantine will be established with the proposal of an authorized body – by a governor, Yerevan mayor for certain territories – and by government for the whole territory of the republic or in few provinces.
In the case when it is established with the proposal of the government a number of restrictions will be applied regarding gatherings, organization of public events, etc.
Badasyan stressed that the proposed package will give an opportunity to combat the pandemic without extending the state of emergency.
