11 people die from alcohol intoxication in Armenia

Ten people applied to the Armavir Medical Center with alcohol intoxication from August 31 to September 1, Armenia’s Health Ministry reports.

Three of them died in Armavir Medical Center, the fourth person was transported to Armenia Republican Medical Center where later died. One patient is in intensive care unit of Erebuni Medical Center. Doctors assess his condition as extremely grave.

The condition of other two patients who were transported from Armavir to Armenia Medical Center is grave. They are in intensive care unit.

One resident of Armavir applied to Armenia Medical Center with same symptoms but later refused from medical treatment.

Other 4 residents of Yerevan applied to Armenia Republican Medical Center with the same symptoms and died later.

The death toll from alcohol intoxication currently stands at 11.

Another patient suspected to have the intoxication is in Heratsi N1 hospital, in intensive care unit.

The person from which the alcohol has been purchased has been identified and arrested.

The people who purchased alcohol drink from resident of Armavir Ashot Hovsepyan born in 1970 are urged not to use it and apply to Armavir investigative department.
