No politically “hot” fall expected: political analyst on political developments in Armenia
The political life will be more active in fall, political analyst Armen Baghdasaryan said speaking to Aysor.am.
He said the opposition forces will try to undertake certain steps, adding though that the situation will not become very tense.
“There will be some activity, but in my idea, there will not be “hot” fall,” he said, noting that the opposition forces will undertake some actions to establish the leader.
“The PAP, Republican party, the forces backing Armenia’s second president, Homeland party are trying to resolve the issue of leadership in the opposition field, and they must do it by actions. Each of these forces must try to show that it is the chief opposition force,” he said, adding that these actions will not be addressed against the authorities but more for self-affirmation among the other opposition forces.
“This will be the first round of political developments which makes me suppose that there will not be a “hot” fall in classic sense,” Baghdasaryan stressed.
The analyst said in future after the issue of leadership is resolved and the opposition will understand who to consolidate over, more intensive actions may be expected.
“But this is in long-term perspective. Currently other issue is being solved and it is not clear yet who the leader of the opposition will be as we have not only domestic issues but foreign support issues too. The opposition is trying to get support from Russia and it is still not clear which force will get it,” the analyst said.
