Border issue depends on decisions of other states: Armenia’s FM speaks with citizens demanding opening borders for leaving for Russia

Even if the state of emergency ends, it does not mean that the issue of borders will be settled, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told the citizens wanting to leave for Russia.

“Now you want me to solve the issue of rules set by another country. I repeat, we know the issue, but there is no solution because it relates to the decisions made by other countries. You tell us “let us go”, but it is impossible now,” the minister said.

Asked when it will be possible, the minister said he cannot give any promise as there is no clear solution yet.

The citizens voiced hope that their issue will be presented at the next cabinet sitting, otherwise they will start a strike.

Earlier today, the protesters gathered in front of government building demanding opening of borders for leaving to Russia.
