Armenian parliament adopts law on quarantine
With 70 for and 19 against at the second and final reading the parliament adopted package of bills on making amendments in the laws on Ensuring Sanitary-Epidemiological Safety of the RA Population and Protection of Population in Emergency Situations.
The bills envisage replacement of state of emergency regime with quarantine.
Quarantine may be declared with the proposal of Ministry of Health, governor, Yerevan mayor in case of outbreak of infectious diseases or emergency situations.
Quarantine may be established in some part of the city or in certain area, including in enterprises and companies. It may be set with up to six months and extended till 12 months.
