National Archive director sacked, to dispute the decision at court

Director of National Archive Amatuni Virabyan has been dismissed from the post by the minister of justice who claimed that Virabyan worked with violations.

“The order was given yesterday, I received it today. They dismissed me for not paying taxes. The taxes that all state non-trade organizations did not pay, later the government did it from reserve fund. What should I do now when I have the order,” Virabyan told Aysor.am.

Though the government paid the taxes from the reserve fund, it was the bases for breaching the labor contract with Virabyan.

“It was VAT, the law was adopted in 2016 but the budget has not envisaged the sum, it envisaged from 2019. The tax body conducted audit for 2016-2018, formed an act, applied to the government, the sum was provided from the reserve fund and we paid it like all other state non-trade organizations,” Virabyan said.

The director is planning to undertake all the actions envisaged by the law against this as he said illegal decision.

“I will dispute it at court. It was not a basis, in this case all the directors of state non-trade organizations must be sacked,” he said.

Virabyan said he has been working in the post from 2001 and just in two months the term of his contract expires.

“The problem is that just two months were left to my contract. I asked them to wait till it expires but they hurry, I do not know why,” Virabyan said.
