Armenia's PM: Monitoring to be conducted after re-opening schools, decision for children not to wear masks to be made if possible
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the cabinet sitting today referred to the situation over coronavirus in Armenia.
“In the past twenty days in everyday regime we are having less than 200 cases which is definitely an improvement,” he said, adding that another improvement is the essential reduction of active cases.
The PM stressed as of now the active cases are less than 3,000.
The head of the government also said that the number of everyday tests is unprecedentedly high and that the positive percentage is low which is a big degree of detection of the cases.
“We are in the circle of 5, 6, 7, 8% which internationally is considered high degree of detection,” the PM said.
Pashinyan also noted that the situation in Armenia continues improving.
“The upcoming biggest risk of violating the dynamics is opening of schools and decisions were made in this regard which are not unanimously accepted by the public. The reason is that there is a demand for children to wear masks, and I want to register that we are forced to take this step not to allow return to the new epidemiological crisis and there are comments which simply surprise. I want to say that all the anti-epidemiological measures, decisions that are being adopted are being applied and complied with by us too,” the PM stated, adding that they will monitor the situation and make corresponding decision for the children to finally breathe fully a day earlier.
