CIS countries to check the combat-readiness of the CIS joint air defense system
Seven countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will check the combat-readiness of the CIS joint air defense system during the military exercise which started on Friday, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in these exercises that kicked off at 9 a.m. Yerevan time.
The joint air defense system is managed from the Russian aerospace forces’ command center in Moscow.
Over 130 command points, over 60 aircraft will be engaged in the exercises.
"The aircraft crews will conduct mutual maneuvers in the airspace of the seven countries participating in the exercise," the administration added, in particular.
