Opposition lawmaker suggest remove demand of wearing masks in open territories

The allegation that wearing masks in case of children is strictly mandatory and necessary has no scientific basis, lawmaker from Bright Armenia faction Anna Kostanyan wrote on Facebook.

“But the fact that for healthy growth child’s organism needs necessary oxygen nutrition I think is obvious for each person,” she wrote.

The lawmaker said the commandant’s decision especially for pupils must be reviewed.

The opposition lawmaker suggests not demanding wearing masks in open territories, describing it unjustified and illogical.

"Apply the demand during the rallies, as practically, during them the chances of keeping social distance reduces. Demand of wearing masks in closed territories where social distancing is impossible like in supermarkets, trade centers etc. In pre-school, secondary, higher educational establishments organize the classes without the demand of wearing masks," she said.

The lawmaker stressed that as far as the quarantine restrictions entered into force, the citizens of Armenia must comply with the new reality, thus the government must in its turn try to ease the live of the citizens as much as possible.

“Do not overload and complicate the live of the citizens in the new conditions,” she said.
