Concession means corresponding actions by each of the parties: Mnatsakanyan on mutual concession in NK conflict settlement
Armenia’s priorities are ensuring the physical safety of our compatriots in Nagorno Karabakh and solution of the issue of NK status – recognition of the right to self-determination and its implementation without any restrictions, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said at a joint press conference with the Egyptian counterpart.
“Regarding the solution [of the conflict] the most important priority for us is the security. The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship consisting of France, Russia and the USA was and is the only important international platform, format in the sidelines of which we are trying to settle this conflict. The settlement of the conflict may be based on mutual concessions, and concession means that each of the parties must undertake corresponding steps toward balanced, measured resolution addressing the interests of all,” Mnatsakanyan said.
Armenia’s minister stressed that there cannot be resolution “only in my way.”
“I think in this regard we are witnessing the sensitivity of the international community toward this conflict. All conflicts are different. As to the NK conflict, it has its peculiarities, its history, differences. In this sidelines we highly assess the cautious approach of all our partners toward exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict. This conflict does not have military solution. We can claim so, as Armenia has the ability to defend and Artsakh has the ability to defend,” Mnatsakanyan said.
The Armenian FM also stressed that Armenia is the only guarantor of Artsakh’s security.
