Wide-scale of school-building and construction of pre-school establishments ongoing in Armenia: minister

The construction of schools and pre-school establishments in Armenia has grown tens of times, Armenia’s Education, Science, Culture and Sport Minister Arayik Harutyunyan said at a press conference today.

He said unprecedented projects are being carried out with 8 high schools being completely reconstructed with high tempos.

“During my activity we opened 60 pre-school establishments in over 60 communities. This is the provision of the Government’s project to ensure attendance of over 70% of 3-6 year old children to pre-school establishments by 2023,” Harutyunyan said.

“Construction of over 22 small schools will launch this year agreed with coronavirus pandemic. The works will be accomplished next year. Next year in a number of communities construction of 15 new schools will be launched,” the minister said.

Harutyunyan said such tempo of school-building, construction of pre-school establishments was not recorded in Armenia during the past 30 years.
