“Unjust Judge”: AntiFake.am launches an investigative initiative
Today citizens of the Republic of Armenia celebrate the 29th anniversary of our independent statehood. The day of this event, which has great importance for our country, is also a day to undertake new commitments.
Unfortunately, our public institutions are still far from the state necessary to build a strong statehood and full democracy, and the distance between necessity and reality is growing.
In this regard, the recovery and establishment of the judiciary are essential, as (1) there is a determined demand for justice in the society, and the highest court of justice is the independent court, (2) the independence of judges had raised serious issues even before 2018, and now the situation has been worsened after the famous public invite to “yelp”, (3) judges are in office for decades and they cannot be replaced neither by revolutions nor snap elections.
A personalized and targeted approach to rectify the situation is the most effective way which will be carried out through providing public awareness, exerting public pressure and using legal tools based on that. Thus, AntiFake.am launches the “Unjust Judge” investigative initiative, in the scope of which we will publish information of public interest on “Unjust Judges” which are tractable to authorities. We will start from their suspicious assets and businesses to their bonds of dependence. A list of “Unjust Judges” will be formed based on these publications, and will be named after one of the most prominent “Unjust Judges”.
The publications will be translated concurrently and sent to the international organizations concerned, and legal proceedings will be conducted on their basis.
Every citizen of the Republic of Armenia can contribute to our initiative to expose “Unjust Judges”. Inform us and we will inform the all.
