Nikol Pashinyan must take pack of his guilt and leave: Armen Ashotyan on developments in NK conflict settlement process
An ad hoc committee must be created to understand what happened in the period when Nikol Pashinyan was already a PM but there was still normal NA, vice-president of the Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan said at a press conference today.
He stressed that the statements of the Azerbaijan’s president Ilham Aliyev tear the mask from Nikol Pashinyan.
Ashotyan described the processes over Artsakh as rather worrying.
“In this situation listening to Nikol Pashinyan’s not succeeded lectures when instead he should just confront Aliyev, listening to foreign minister's excited speech that he does not comment on Aliyev’s statement and leaving the topic on the level of Azerbaijan's authorities is simply ridiculous,” Ashotyan said.
He stressed that tanks and cannons are seen behind Aliyev’s statements.
“If there is a war, Armenia must not be labeled as the one guilty in it,” he said.
The vice president of the party said the Azerbaijani propaganda wins now.
Ashotyan said statements of the Artsakh leadership also raise concerns, adding that there was never such chaos in Armenia-Artsakh relations before.
Vice president of the party stressed that hasty statements harm Armenia and Artsakh’s positions in the negotiation process.
“This will not end good. We are already potential guilty both in two fronts – diplomatic and possible military – with the process not even having started yet. Why? Because Nikol Pashinyan and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan were busy with domestic populism, they were not listening to us for the past 2,5 years,” he said.
Ashotyan stressed that the mistakes of today’s authorities are becoming fatal.
“The only way out is Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation and snap parliamentary elections. Nikol Pashinyan has gathered such a guilt in Artsakh negotiation issue that he cannot get cleaned of it. He must take this pack of guilt and go,” Armen Ashotyan said.
