ARF-D: Ruling force to bear the responsibility of the consequences of not stopping political persecutions

Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun issued a statement.

“Armenia has appeared in a fatal round: the authorities put the country in front of serious external and domestic threats. Instead of confronting the challenges with national unity the authorities intensified their continuing working style of political revenge and persecutions, silencing the opposition political forces, opponents, with violation of their rights, dividing the people, responding to criticism with exclusively revenge and personal offences,” the statement reads.

The party stressed that the political authorities have fully involved the Prosecutor General’s Office in the process with the disciplinary cases against judges not agreeing to implement political order being a proof of it.

“The hasty decision to arrest the PAP leader is one of the manifestations of the authorities’ ill line aimed at thickening the atmosphere of fear and divert the public moods from the failures the ruling regime has registered in all the sectors. This ill working style of the authorities is inadmissible and condemnable. We demand immediately stopping the political persecutions, changing the unlawful pre-trial measure against Gagik Tsarukyan,” the statement of the party said.

“In case of not stopping the political persecutions against opposition political forces and opponents the ruling force will bear the whole responsibility of the consequences,” the party said, stressing that the October 8 national rally of the Trio is an important harbor of formation of new-quality authorities.

“We are convinced that with public consolidation it is possible to confront the obvious threats to our statehood,” the statement concluded.
