Homeland party strictly condemns political persecutions against opponents, demand immediately stopping them

Homeland party strictly condemns the political persecutions against opposition and opponents and demand that they are stopped immediately.

In the statement the party stressed that in this fatal round for Armenia the incumbent regime with its incompetent management brought the country face-to-face with serious foreign challenges.

“Even the subordinate managers of the adversary country dare to speak with our state with obvious mockery, threat and bellicose rhetoric while the relations with the ally countries reduced to the minimal level. The serious issues the state is facing – harsh social-economic situation, discrediting of state institutions, the indifference toward them have become inner-state threats,” the party said, adding that instead of solving the issues, the authorities intensified their style of silencing the opposition political forces and the opponents by opening falsified criminal cases, responding to constructive criticism with personal offences.

The party also said that the hasty court hearing on September 25 for arresting Gagik Tsarukyan is the continuation of the ill path of the authorities in agony aimed at

1. impeding the conduction of the national rally initiated by the Trio on October 8,

2. divert people’s attention from the complete failure of the fight against coronavirus which took lives of over 1,200 people,

3. avoid the inner crisis growing as a result of shameful mistakes in the Artsakh negotiation process.

4. avoid the scandal from revelation of shameful secret  arrangements with the adversary country’s leadership,

5. direct the public moods in other direction trying to delay the inglorious removal of the ruling regime.

“Considering this ill working style of the authorities absolutely inadmissible and condemnable, we demand immediately stopping the political persecutions against opposition political forces and opponents. The delay may have fatal consequences for our state and the people. Gagik Tsarukyan is a political prisoner and must be immediately released,” the statement concluded.
