UN Secretary General holds conversation with Azerbaijani president, urges to immediately cease the fire and resume talks

UN Secretary General António Guterres hold a phone conversation with the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev urging to immediately cease the fire and send OSCE observers to the conflict zone. The same call the UN Secretary General will voice to Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan, official representative of the UN Sec. General told the reporters today.

“UN Secretary General just had a phone conversation with the president of Azerbaijan, soon he will speak with Armenia’s PM. During the phone conversation he will voice the same idea he expressed in the conversation with Azerbaijan’s president – in particular he will tell about the necessity to immediately cease the fire, resume negotiations without pre-conditions under the auspices of the Minsk Group co-chairs as well as send OSCE observers to the region immediately,” the representative said.
