Kremlin calls the NK conflicting parties for maximum restraint
Kremlin called the Nagorno Karabakh conflicting parties exercise restraint.
“At the moment we urge all the parties, and first of all, conflicting parties, exercise maximum restraint, reject military methods of dealing with the case as well as reject any steps that may provoke further undesirable escalation of the situation which already is in the phase of military confrontation,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
He said Kremlin does not consider that the escalation of the situation in Nagorno Karabakh has been purposefully provoked to exert some pressure on Russia.
The spokesperson said that Moscow exercises balanced position over Nagorno Karabakh issue.
“Russia is the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and plays role of prepared mediator in the regulation and such readiness has been stressed on very different levels,” Peskov said.
He stressed the necessity to stop military actions right now rather than figure out who is right and who is wrong.
“Russia has always displayed balanced position which gives it an opportunity to use its influence and traditionally good relations with the both parties – Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Peskov stressed.
