Moscow does not agree with Ankara’s statements on military assistance to one of NK conflicting parties
The statement about military assistance to one of the parties of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict provoke escalation, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated, commenting on the statement of Turkey’s FM Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The Turkish FM stated about readiness to assist Azerbaijan both at the table of negotiations and in the battlefield.
Asked whether Kremlin is discussing the option of military assistance to Armenia, including in the sidelines of the CSTO, Peskov said, “Kremlin believes in the necessity of speedy cease of fire and military actions.”
“Any statements about military assistance or military activation definitely pour fuel to the fire, we are categorically against it, we do not agree with such formulation of the question,” the spokesperson said.
Peskov stressed that Moscow “urges all the countries, especially partner-countries, like Turkey to do everything to convince the confronting parties cease the fire and return to the peaceful settlement of this lasting conflict in political-diplomatic ways.”
