Azerbaijan uses weapons banned by international humanitarian organizations: Armenia’s Ombudsman
It is very important for the Armenian side to show the insidious nature of the policy in the basis of these attacks, the obvious goal of ethnic cleansing, Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan said.
“UAVs are aimed at targeting civilian population and destructions. The studies in Gegharkunik showed that they are being used at night hours when people are at home, and mostly asleep. The studies showed that the attacks with them are being carried out against civilian overcrowded facilities.
In Artsakh too they were used and caused greater damage,” the Ombudsman said.
Speaking about the usage of LAR 160 and Smerch rocket systems, Tatoyan said that they are banned types of weapons by international humanitarian right.
He said these types of weapon are being used in Artsakh and there are profs of it which will be sent to international structures.
Tatoyan said that the usage of mercenaries is proved, he said their usage and actions for which they are being used are considered crimes.
“According to UN resolutions, people who do that must be subjected to criminal responsibility,” he said.
The Human Rights Defender also spoke about the hate speech against ethnic Armenians, calls of violence and their elimination.
The Ombudsman said all studies are being sent to corresponding bodies of international organizations.
Referring to the international organizations, Tatoyan said, “It is impossible to prevent such phenomena with speeches, calls or unaddressed steps.
Consequences will create humanitarian disaster,” Tatoyan said.
