CSTO believes Nagorno Karabakh conflict will not extend to Armenia’s territory: Secretary General
Azerbaijan will not strike Armenian territories as it does not have territorial claims to it and is not encroaching its integrity, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said.
“I am sure such development of scenario will not take place. Why? Because Azerbaijan does not have territorial claims to Armenia and is not encroaching its integrity. Secondly, I think there is enough sanity and responsibility before own people not to make such decisions, this understanding will immediately change the situation,” Zas told the reporters on Thursday.
He also stressed that the sanity of Azerbaijani and Armenian politicians and militaries will not allow expansion of the conflict on a new level.
“There is a conflict there and one situation and the international community has relevant attitude and assessment. If it happens, everything will change. I think neither Azerbaijan, nor Armenia nor any other country is interested in the expansion of conflict to a regional level. I don’t see such variant of development of events,” Zas said.
