Boy from the photo immortalized: Father tells the tragic news (photo)
The boy from the well-known photo depicting one of the episodes of the ongoing war in Nagorno Karabakh has sacrificed his life for the Homeland.
His name was Albert Hovhannisyan, a first-grade student in Russian (Slavonic) University.
While the fate of the boy was unclear, the family kept on receiving messages from known and unknown to learn any news about him.
The thing is that for many days the family itself did not have any information about their son. Today, the boy’s father Artak Hovhannisyan took to Facebook to tell the terrible news…his son has gone to eternity.
“My son, Albert Hovhannisyan, whose photo has been widely spread across the world and has become dear to many of you has immortalized. My pain and that is of my family's is immeasurable and bottomless. We had no information about him for days, but many of you were with my family - with your presence, words, prayers, but… something else was destined to happen,” Albert’s father wrote in Facebook.
“Through suffocating tears, I want to ask you, to keep Albert in your memory as eternally young, boundlessly optimistic and extremely patriotic, who had big dreams and had a lot to do and whose greatest love was his Homeland,” the father wrote.
“My grief is great but my pride is greater. I am the father of a patriot Armenian, I am father of today’s true Hero. I realize that Albert is not only my Hero, he is the Hero of everyone. For today’s and future generations he is also an example of a Hero Armenian who took the path of his hero ancestors and immortalized…
Glory to our heroes,” Albert’s father wrote.
