Intensive fights continue, adversary uses artillery more: Armenia’s MOD representative
From the morning today Azerbaijani armed forces launched offensives in southern direction more severely, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan said at a briefing today.
“The Armenia side pushed the adversary back but intensive fights are ongoing in the southern direction. Azerbaijani armed forces shelled Stepanakert, Shushi and other towns,” he said.
Hovhannisyan said the enemy twice hit St Ghazanchetsots Cathedral damaging it badly. Additional information will be reported about wounded civilians.
The MOD representative stressed that during this period 93 civilians were wounded of which 20 received light and average injuries, the others grave.
“We have 20 victims, 4,600 real estate property were fundamentally and partially damaged as well as 430 mobile property, 750 different infrastructures and facilities,” he said.
Hovhannisyan said the adversary is now using artillery more frequently continuing its aggressive and terrorist actions.
The representative said the adversary is using different weaponry –soviet, Israeli and Turkish-made.
Speaking about wounded servicemen, the majority of them very speedily return to battlefield after receiving medical treatment.
“The 30% of the wounded return to rows in 24 hours after receiving treatment,” he said.
He did not exclude the existence of Armenian captives in Azerbaijan, but did not reveal any other information.
