MOD representative: Armenian side has Azerbaijani prisoners of war

Representative of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan said the Armenian side unfortunately does not have information about prisoners of war.

“The Azerbaijani side does not provide such information, neither does it work with the Red Cross,” Hovhannisyan said.

He stressed that the Azeri side even is not trying to take the bodies.

“During the recent period we are witnessing extremely inhuman attitude by Azerbaijanis toward own losses and bodies. We have not seen such thing even from them before. They [bodies] are left in fields, in canyons and marshes. It gives room for conclusions,” Hovhannisyan said.

Speaking about prisoners of war of the enemy, Hovhannisyan said, “Yes, we too have [Azerbaijani] prisoners of war, but how many, where they are and in what condition I don’t know.”
