With Turkey’s open instigation Azerbaijan seeks to expand the geography of Karabakh conflict launching aggressions against sovereign territory of the RA
Armenia and Greece have consistent approaches over a number of issues on international agenda, Armenia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated today at a joint press conference with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias.
“Our meeting takes place in a situation when our compatriots in Artsakh are facing existential threat,” he said, expressing gratitude to Greek counterpart for visiting during this important time for Armenia and for expressing solidarity to the Armenian people.
The minister stressed that the two regions – Eastern Mediterranean and the South Caucasus – are currently facing the same threat the basis of which is Turkey’s expansionist policy.
Armenia’s FM stressed that Turkey is the instigator of the wide scale aggression launched by the Azerbaijani military-political leadership against peaceful population of Artsakh from September 27 till now.
He said Turkey not only has military participation in the hostilities but has engaged foreign armed terrorists serving it in the aggression against Artsakh.
Mnatsakanyan stressed that despite the October 10 statement adopted in Moscow on cessation of hostilities, Azerbaijan continued the military actions attacking also military facility in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
“Yesterday they again shelled Karabakh’s capital Stepanakert. With this Azerbaijan is openly demonstrating that it not only refuses to implement the truce confirmed in the joint statement of the foreign ministers but with the open instigation of Turkey seeks to expand the geography of the Karabakh conflict already attacking and launching open aggressions against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia,” Mnatsakanyan stressed.
