Armenia to ban import of Turkish goods
Armenia’s Ministry of Economy offers to impose a temporary ban on the import of Turkish products.
In a press release the Ministry says that it first of all supposes security factor as Turkey is openly supporting Azerbaijan in its aggression and terrorist actions against Artsakh.
“With their actions Turkey’s authorities are undermining the stability in the region,” the Ministry said.
It stressed that the ban on the import of Turkish goods is not only an economic sanction against Turkey but stops the flow of financial means to Turkey’s state treasury from Armenian sources. These means are eventually being used to support Azerbaijan.
“It also impedes penetration of different threats to the territory of Armenia,” the Ministry said in the press release, adding that the decision will enter into force from December 31, 2020 with the period of six months.
