Azerbaijan’s subversive groups penetrated into settlements in south, neutralized: MOD representative

Armenia’s Armed Forces launched offenses along the entire line of contact in the morning today, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan said at a briefing today.

“During the day different settlements of Artsakh were shelled,” he said.

Hovhannisyan stressed that three shells fell in Berdzor region.

He stressed that fierce fights were waged in the direction of Shekher, Jivanik and nearby villages. He said the armed forces worked on elimination of sabotage groups which were penetrating into the mentioned territories.

“We have success in this regard, Shekher settlement with nearby woods has been almost cleaned. In the woods near some territories the neutralization works continue,” Hovhannisyan said.

MOD representative said that throughout the whole day Azerbaijan tried to attack in the direction of Vorotan, few attempts have been failed, the enemy was pushed back with big losses.

“Some [enemy’s] subdivisions have been divided, lost their equipment and fled. They tried to hide in woods,” he said.

Hovhannisyan said the tension remains, mainly local battles are being waged.

“They are trying to implement attacks over roads, rivers but are being neutralized by Armed Forces,” Hovhannisyan said.
