Azeri president’s statement surprising – Yerevan always stays committed to basic principles of Karabakh conflict settlement: Armenia’s PM spokesperson
Yerevan confirms readiness for peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict based on mutual concessions, Armenia’s PM’s spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan told Interfax news agency.
“Armenia’s Prime Minister has many times stated about readiness and need for peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict on the basis of mutual concessions in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship,” Gevorgyan told Interfax.
She said that in his interview to Interfax, Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan stated that Azerbaijan refutes achieved agreements displaying maximalist approach.
“Armenia’s PM said [in the interview] when Armenia says this or that concession is acceptable, which seemed to be acceptable for Azerbaijan too till that, this compromise very quickly becomes unacceptable for him [Aliyev]. He stressed that at the very moment when Armenia states readiness for mutual concessions, Azerbaijan demands more,” she said.
“Thus, the statement of Azerbaijan’s president that Armenia must state about being committed to the fundamental principles of settlement worked out by the USA, Russia and France is surprising as Armenia has always been and now too is committed to these principles,” Mane Gevorgyan stressed.
Earlier today, speaking to Fox News Azerbaijan’s president stated that Baku is ready for ceasefire with the condition that Armenia states about being committed to the basic principles of Karabakh conflict settlement worked out by Russia, the USA and France.
