Armenia’s PM says he warned Pompeo about possibility of violation of ceasefire
We do not know how the U.S. President will respond to the failure of the ceasefire but at midnight I had phone conversation with the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, directly telling him that I may predict what would happen tomorrow, Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan said live on Facebook.
“I said that the possibility that ceasefire would not be maintained is very big, with Azerbaijan saying that the Armenian side violated it. But the main issue I put forward the U.S. Secretary of State was – first, if the ceasefire would not happen, how they would clarify who the guilty is. Secondly, what consequences will be for the side which violated it,” Pashinyan said, adding that he would not unveil Pompeo’s responses, saying it will not be “correct.”
At the same time the prime minister voiced hope that the U.S official representative will answer whether they clarified as a result of activities of which side the ceasefire was violated and what are the consequences for the violating side.
