No need to apply to the CSTO now: Armenia's NA Vice-Speaker

Today we have one partner which supports us in all the ways, it is Russia, Armenia’s NA vice speaker Alen Simonyan told the reporters today, adding that France and U.S support too.

He expressed conviction that the three super powers understand that Armenia is a gate before international terrorism.

Asked why Armenia does not apply to the CSTO, Alen Simonyan said that before applying to the structure it is first necessary to be convinced that its actions will be enough for corresponding response.

“The decisions in the CSTO are being made in the logic of consensus. If we see undeniable facts that will be difficult to doubt, we will do that… We will take this step when it will receive definitely positive response,” he said.

“Today we do not need to apply to the CSTO but in case of danger to Armenian borders, I convince you that our allies will not allow the situation to deepen much,” he said, adding that he cannot currently open many brackets.
