MOD representative: Our armed forces have some position privileges in the direction of few heights

Today early in the morning the Azerbaijani armed forces launched offensives in different directions, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan said at a briefing today.

“First in the northern direction, after not lasting artillery preparation they tried to attack in the direction of few our positions with infantry. They were eliminated, suffered serious losses, pushed back leaving large number of corpses in the field,” Hovhannisyan said.

He said the battles continued all day in the southern direction as well – north from Araks River.

“Our armed forces have some position privileges in the direction of few heights, but the battles continue. In the central direction two separate processes were ongoing – during the whole day they were trying to break the frontline in the direction of Martuni and Tchartar but our Armed Forces did not retreat. As of the moment there are no changes of positions in that direction. In the villages near Shushi considerable number of groups were eliminated, a military base has been neutralized. The battles continue,” Hovhannisyan said.
