MOD representative: South from Martuni Azerbaijani forces succeeded in taking 1-2 positions, enemy’s other offensives in all directions failed

During the whole past night the Azerbaijani armed forces undertook few large-scale offensives, Ministry of Defense spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan said at a briefing today.

“All the attempts failed, as we have officially stated that the initiated attacks failed, were thrown back, few subdivisions remained in trap and were destroyed with artillery fire,” Hovhannisyan said.

He said that early in the morning, starting from 7 a.m. in the direction of north – Martakert and in the central sector – in the direction of Martuni, in different directions in southern sector the enemy attempted offensives.

“Today’s offensives differed with their strength as compared with the previous ones. In all the directions the attack attempts were failed, in some places thrown back even pursued. Our subdivisions succeeded in pursuing and having certain position changes. But in the direction of Martuni the enemy succeeded in taking one-two positions south from Martuni – in the direction of Tchartar. At this moment all the offensives are failed,” Hovhannisyan said, adding that the battles still continue.
