Peacekeeping mission in Nagorno Karabakh to be implemented by Russia, certain elements may be agreed with Turkey: Konstantin Kosachyev
Russian peacekeepers will be in Nagorno Karabakh, Turkey will be involved only in case of agreeing some elements of the implementation of the peacekeeping mission, Konstantin Kosachyev, head of International Affairs Committee of the Federal Council of Russia’s Federal Assembly, told Interfax.
“We have seen some messages to Turkey in the statement of the Azerbaijani president that it will be a joint action. But let’s read the trilateral statement attentively as well as the text presented by Russia’s president. It is being particularly spoken about Russian peacekeeping contingent. Yes, probably, some elements of coordinating actions of the parties are possible as we should not ignore Turkey’s presence in Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh,” Kosachyev told Russian TV channel.
“But I repeat, the mission is Russian, the action is peacekeeping, it is implemented with the consent of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he stressed.
