Decision to stop the war made after Shushi’s fall – Pashinyan
The decision to stop the war was made after it became clear that there is no sense of fighting anymore, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview to Public TV.
“Our army fought till the last moment. Our political task was to make a breakthrough. The decision to stop the war in Nagorno Karabakh was made after it became clear that the fight has no sense,” he said, adding that the decision was made after Shushi’s fall.
“I said I cannot hand over Shushi. Stopping the war before would have meant giving Shushi without a battle,” he said.
