Russia’s president stresses necessity of protection of Armenian Christian churches in phone conversation with Aliyev

Russia’s president Vladimir Putin had phone conversations with the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

During the conversation the practical aspects of implementation of arrangements reached by November 9 trilateral statement were discussed.

Kremlin press service reports that the parties hailed the maintenance of ceasefire regime and calm situation along the line of contact.

In the conversation with Ilham Aliyev Vladimir Putin draw his attention to the fact of existence of Christian churches in the regions that will be returned to Azerbaijan according to the trilateral agreement and stressed the necessity of protection of the sacred places and the ensuring the normal church life.

Azerbaijan’s president said they treat the issue with understanding and will act respectively.
