Berdzor mayor says Azeris passed via their road to northern region
Part of the residents of Berdzor community of Kashatagh region of Artsakh left their homes, another part continues living there.
“The peacekeepers continue their service. There is nothing dangerous in Berdzor,” the community head Narek Alexanyan told Aysor.am.
Lachin region has today officially passed under Azerbaijan’s control in the sidelines of the trilateral statement signed by Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian leaders on November 9.
“We have not received any security guarantees as such. Only the peacekeepers are here and at this moment they are ensuring our security,” Alexanyan said, adding that some residents left and some have returned.
The mayor said neither Armenian nor Azerbaijani flags will be put on Berdzor’s administrative buildings.
“Accompanied with Russian peacekeepers Azeris came via Berdzor road, passed to north of the region, to the settlements which according to the agreement must pass to them from December 1,” he said.
Asked whether he considers possible the order of evacuation in Berdzor, Aghavno and Sus communities, Alexanyan said, “”I think these three communities will remain to the Armenian side, and we will live like we used to.”
