Officially confirmed 4 women are in Azerbaijan's captivity
Human Rights Ombudsman of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan said he divides the Armenian captives in three groups – the one the fact of being captured of who is officially confirmed by Azerbaijan, the captives who according to proofs are being kept in Azeri jails but the fact of their being captured have not been confirmed by the Azerbaijani side and captives who are under Azerbaijan’s control and the Armenian side has or does not have information but they are either under the control of Armed Forces or in Azerbaijani jails.
Beglaryan said the main part of the first group has already been returned, all the civilians have returned.
“There are few captives who were in the officially confirmed list but have not been returned yet. I do not want to tell their exact number, but there are few of them,” he said.
As to the second group, there are concrete videos and proofs provided by the returned captives who claim that they have seen these people in Azerbaijan’s jail.
The video has been submitted to the Red Cross and the Russian side, but the Azerbaijani side stubbornly does not confirm the fact of them being captured.
Beglaryan stated that there are people missing who were either killed or have been captured or are in asylums.
Artsakh Ombudsman said officially confirmed four women have been captured.
“At least four. I am mentioning the ones officially confirmed by the Azerbaijani side. Now it will be hard for me to say how many have been returned. As far as I know over 4 have been returned but there are more women captured, part of them confirmed, proved and part we suspect that they have been captured, they are missing,” Beglaryan said.
